| Das 'Blochziehen' ist ein alter, seltener
Brauch im Burgenland. Selten ist er deswegen, weil er nur durchgeführt
werden darf, wenn während des Faschings keine Hochzeit stattgefunden
hat. So hat es im letzten Jahrhundert nur dreimal in unserer Ortschaft
ein Blochziehen gegeben. Die Jugend des Dorfes zieht dabei einen Baumstamm
(= Bloch) durch die Ortschaft. Der Baum stellt die Braut dar, die von von
einer Reihe von Darstellergruppen auf ihrem Umzugsweg durch die Ortschaft
begleitet wird.
Interessant ist auch das Datum an dem dieses Blochziehen stattgefunden hat (11.2.1934). Einen Tag später brach in Österreichs Städten der Bürgerkrieg aus, der 241 Menschleben forderte und das Ende der Demokratie in der Zwischenkriegszeit bedeutete. |
The 'Blochziehen'
is an old rarely tradition in Burgenland. It is rarley, because its only
taken place, when there is no wedding during carneval. So the 'Blochziehen'
took place only three times in the last century in our village. The young
people of village
pull a log (= Bloch) through the streets of the village. The log symbolize the bride and many groups of actors and floats attends the bride on her way through the village. The date of this event is very interesting, because the Austrian civil war starts one day later. 241 persons were killed and the civil war was the end of the democracy during World War I and II. |
